Deborah Reissman’s interest in education began with volunteer work at her son’s elementary school in 2004. She joined BJE in 2008, managing the myriad projects and details of BJE’s Institutional Advancement office. Prior to that, she held several administrative office positions at Shalhevet, a BJE affiliated Day School.
Deborah earned an MFA in Theatre Administration from Yale School of Drama and a B.A. in Political Science from UCSB. Following graduate school, Deborah worked in Los Angeles for several studios and independent production companies as director of production. Her credits as executive-in-charge-of-production include such films as the award-winning The Good Girl, directed by Miguel Arteta, starring Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal, National Lampoon’s Van Wilder, starring Ryan Reynolds, People I Know, starring Al Pacino and Tea Leoni, Jeepers Creepers II, Imagining Argentina, written and directed by Christopher Hampton, starring Antonio Banderas and Emma Thompson. She has produced more than 20 plays.
She lives in Valley Village with her husband Mason Malone, their 14 year-old son Kyle, and two mutts from the pound: Maxi and Melba.
