As Director of Institutional Advancement, Debra Bronow oversees strategic planning and implementation of BJE’s fundraising, marketing, and community relations programs. As president of The Bronow Group Inc., she consulted with a variety of organizations, including independent schools, public television stations, public education foundations, and arts organizations. She has also served in senior staff positions at Vistamar School, Marlborough School, Long Beach Museum of Art; University of California Irvine’s School of Fine Arts; and South Coast Repertory.
Born in Southern California, Bronow spent her childhood in the South Pacific and Northwestern Alaska. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and English at the University of La Verne and holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Anderson School at UCLA. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and has been a presenter and conference organizer for NSFRE/AFP Fundraising Day in Los Angeles, CASE District VII Conference, CAIS/California Development Partnership, and the Alumni Program Council (APC).
An active volunteer in her community, Bronow has been a docent for the “Young At Art” program which provides hands-on art and art history lessons to more than 3,000 students in the South Bay area, and has served as Board member and President of Congregation Tikvat Jacob in Manhattan Beach, where she lives with her husband, two teenage sons, and a standard poodle.
