Julie Iskowitz has served as BJE’s Special Projects Coordinator since 2010. In that capacity, she manages BJE’s social media presence and creates materials to promote BJE and its programs and services. Julie earned a B.A. in Communications Studies from University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.A. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Loyola University, Chicago. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Loyola and Cum Laude from UCLA. Julie also earned a certificate from the Jewish Education Leadership Institute (JELI) in conjunction with her Masters Degree.
Prior to joining BJE, Julie worked for over seven years for a national pro-Israel organization based in New York, serving as Director of Campus Activities. During her tenure, she recruited hundreds of students to participate in annual leadership programs in Israel which she organized; hired and managed a staff of campus coordinators in New York, Washington DC, Detroit, and Los Angeles; worked with college students to implement pro-Israel events at universities across the US; and delivered lectures on college campuses, to youth groups, and to non-profit organizations across the country. Julie also established and edited a national pro-Israel magazine, The College Zionist.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Julie studied in Israel for a year prior to working as a management consultant at Andersen Consulting (now called Accenture). Julie is a member of Kehillat Yavneh in Hancock Park and Congregation Ohev Zedek in Manhattan, and Julie and her husband David are the parents of three boys attending a BJE-affiliated Jewish day school in Los Angeles.
