Re-Imagining Jewish Education

The BJE is proud to bring the RE-IMAGINE Project to Los Angeles, delivered in partnership with The Experiment in Congregational Education (ECE) of the Rhea Hirsch School of Education (RHSOE), HUC-JIR in Los Angeles.  ECE has worked with congregations across the movements to foster synagogue and educational transformation with 41 congregations in New York, congregations in San Francisco, Kansas City, and nationwide.

Re-Imagine, made possible through the generosity of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and an anonymous national funder, is a two-to-three year systemic process of re-imagining Jewish learning for children to help congregations meet the changing educational and spiritual needs of today’s Jewish families.  for more information, click here!

14 Day Schools Qualify For Matching Funds From The Jewish Funders Network, Avichai & PEJE

Working together with schools as their partner, the BJE provided Solicitor Training workshops for Day School staff and lay leaders outlining the guidelines and giving them the tools needed to access funds available to them from the Jewish Funders Network, Avichai and PEJE (Partners for Excellence in Jewish Edcation).

Qualifying schools will receive matching grants for new gifts the schools solicited of $25,000 or more, giving them additional resources to enhance their educational programs and potentially enable more children to access a quality Jewish education.

Conducting workshops of this kind and providing individual consultations are only one example of the many projects in progress with the BJE's Day School Capacity Building Initiative funded in part by the Jewish Federation and under the leadership of Chair and long time BJE board member, Mark Lainer.  For more information about the important services provided to BJE partner schools in this arena, click here
