BJE MARCH OF THE LIVING 2010 - HOW TO APPLY

Please read this carefully before completing your application.

Print this page to use it as your checklist to ensure that all requirements are met.

You will need to complete Part A and Part B of the application (see below)

  • In addition to the forms, you must submit three passport-size photos and a $500 deposit with PART B of the application. These must be completed and received in the BJE office by December 11, 2009.

  • Note that your $500 deposit is required with PART B of your application. An application will not be complete and, therefore, will not be considered, until this deposit is received.
    Students who withdraw their application prior to January 15th will receive a refund of $350.00. There will be no refund after January 15th.
    Please make check payable to the BJE.

  • Please read the Program Fact Sheet for additional important information about the program including dates, cost of the program, staffing, itinerary, security, kosher food, AP’s and more.

  • Prior to being accepted into the program, a personal interview will be required. The BJE will contact applicant regarding the interview.  Note that applicant will also be required to submit a letter of recommendation, as well as to complete and/or sign additional documents prior to travel, including a General Release Form; Authorization for Medical Treatment and Payment & Release; Jewish Federation Israel Connections/Experiences-Acknowledgement, Agreement and Release;  Standards of Behavior Contract; Medical Data Form and Applicant’s Statement re: Medical Data Form.

  • A Letter of Recommendation is required for acceptance into the program.  It must be written by a teacher, principal, rabbi, high school counselor or youth advisor.  Letters from friends or family members are not acceptable. Please have the letter of recommendation mailed directly to the BJE- attn: Monise Neumann.

  • Financial assistance is available. Please check the indicated box in the application if you wish to receive financial aid forms.

  • It is recommended that you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance. Contact the BJE for details.

  • It is recommended that you retain copies of all items you send to the BJE for your personal records.

  • Applications will not be processed until both parts (A and B) are completed and received in the BJE office. Only completed applications (Parts A and B; including $500 deposit) received by the December 12th deadline will be processed.

Online applications must be completed and received in the BJE office by December 11, 2009.

After December 11th, consideration of applications is on a "space available" basis.
