Why Choose a BJE School?

A Jewish education is one of the most important gifts you will ever give your son or daughter.  However, determining which school best meets the needs of your child and family can be confusing.  The information below, together with our Concierge service, is designed to help you find the right “match” for your family from the more than 150 BJE-affiliated early childhood centers, synagogue-based religious schools, and day schools. 

All BJE-affiliated schools meet basic standards and criteria governing Jewish studies and school operations.  Schools accredited by the BJE have not only met our affiliation requirements, but also have undergone a rigorous self-study and have been visited and observed by a team of outside educational experts who have ascertained that the school actually does what it says it does.  Day Schools accredited by the BJE are also accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and/or the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).  BJE-accredited early childhood centers are also accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAYEC).  BJE-accredited synagogue-based religious schools may be endorsed by either the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, or the Union for Reform Judaism.
