Bio

Bennett is a Senior Counsel in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency practice at the Hogan Lovells law firm.  A graduate of Rutgers University, Yale School of Management, and Yale Law School, Bennett lives in Encino with his wife, Lise, a former conservatory and Yale-educated classical musician who is a psychologist in private practice. They have three children: Zachary, an Associate Casting Director and Member of the CSA in Los Angeles; Melanie, a graduate of USC with a Master's of Science in Applied Psychology, and a Psy.D. a graduate of Alliant University (formerly California School of Professional Psychology), currently a post-doctoral fellow at UCLA Counseling Psychological Services, and Stephanie, a 2021 recipient of her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Emory University School of Medicine, currently a practicing physical therapist in Atlanta while pursuing her residency in orthopedic physical therapy.

Bennett is currently serving as BJE President.  He has served as a BJE Board member for 20 years and as a member of the Executive Committee for 15 years. He served as Chair of the Personnel Practices Committee and also chaired numerous panels resolving disputes between professionals and schools under the former BJE Code of Personnel Practices. He has served as President, First Vice President and Chairman of the Board, Vice President of Education, and Vice President of Religious Affairs at Adat Ari El. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, and on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Bet Tzedek Legal Services. Bennett enjoys international travel, visiting American national parks, and the theater.
