Jacqui Jacobs

Jacqui was born in Johannesburg and moved to Los Angeles in 1980 with her parents and brother, where she grew up in the Jewish community. She graduated from Sinai Akiba Academy. Jacqui was an active member in the BJE programs of Dor Hadadsh and Havurut Noah in high school through Temple Etz Chaim. After attending college at UCSD she moved back to Los Angeles and worked in entertainment, most recently as a Director of Marketing at Disney. 

Jacqui lives in LA with her husband Alex and their two children who are 15 and 12. Her daughter is a graduate of Pressman Academy and her son Ethan attends Milken. Both of her children spend their summers at Camp Ramah. Jacqui is currently the Executive Vice President of Temple Beth Am and will step into the role of President in 2024. Jacqui was an officer of the JVS Emerging leaders board from 2018-2020. Jacqui is also an active member of AIPAC and participated in the Women's Leadership Network in 2019.

Jacqui attended LA Ulpan in 1990 and this changed her entire life! She then spent her Junior year abroad at Hebrew University which further cemented the love of Israel that was born on her Ulpan trip. Jacqui and Alex have been long time supporters of BJE for this reason. Jacqui loves to play Mahjong and Pickleball and is known for her wicked serve.
