Bio

Linda’s involvement with Jewish education began at home as the daughter of two Holocaust survivors and a semi-reluctant attendee of Hebrew School.  She grew up in Los Angeles in a close family where education figured large – her mother speaks to schools world-wide, and her siblings became rabbi, doctor, and teacher. After graduating from Harvard and UCLA and working at prestigious design firms, she established her own architecture practice.  Her work has been featured in various design publications and she especially loves restoring and re-inventing older buildings

Linda re-embraced her Jewish community when her burgeoning family became members of Temple Israel of Hollywood.  There her four children attended nursery and day school and their family made lifelong friends, finding a vibrant and supportive Jewish community.  She served as TIOH’s head of the Education Commission, a temple board member, and an advisor for the temple’s various building projects.  She also volunteered for years at SOVA.  Linda has volunteered on many historical/city advocacy boards (Los Angeles Conservancy, Historic Preservation Overlay Zones, the Mulholland Commission) where she brings her architectural expertise to saving the natural and built history of her hometown.

Linda loves traveling, hiking, writing, spending time with family and friends, and dragging her (now grown) kids on strange adventures. She has come to embrace the rich history and heritage of being Jewish and believes this is a vital part of Jewish education.  Especially at this time an engaging, and thoughtful Jewish education can serve to enlighten and empower future generations.
