BJE Adult March of the Living
In 2017 BJE will conduct a March of the Living program for Los Angeles adults. The journey begins after Passover, starting in Poland and for many continuing to Israel. Tailored to adults, this transformative experience features an enriched itinerary and five star accommodations, alongside sharing with teens and survivors in the cornerstone events of the International March of the Living.
BJE March of the Living is thrilled that renowned Holocaust historian, Dr. Michael Berenbaum will again be the scholar on the Poland portion of BJE’s adult 2017 trip. BJE staff Monise Neumann and Miriam Prum Hess will also travel with the adult group.
The adult group travels to sites of historical and contemporary interest in Poland, and experiences Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) on a “March of the Living” from Auschwitz to Birkenau in order to experience Poland before and during the Holocaust as well as Jewish life in Poland today. In Israel, participants commemorate Yom HaZikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day), concluding the 2-week experience with Shabbat in Jerusalem. Options include the full 2-week program (Poland and Israel), Poland or Israel only, and choice of a “package” inclusive of flights, and/or ground (accommodations, food, tours) arrangements only.
