BJE Advances Hebrew Language in the Classroom

The Hebrew Language Proficiency Project, a joint initiative between BJE and Hebrew at the Center, empowers teachers to more effectively teach their students Hebrew.?  Educators enhance their skills to maximize student learning, ignite a passion for Hebrew in students and elevate the status of Hebrew in the community.  Each year of the Project includes a series of distance and in-city workshops and mentoring provided by Hebrew at the Center staff.

Cohort 2 of the Hebrew Language Proficiency Project, in partnership with Hebrew at the Center, recently completed the final workshop of Year Two of three years, held at Adat Ari El.  The Cohort is comprised of Hebrew teachers and administrators from Adat Ari El Day School, Pressman Academy, Shalhevet High School, Temple Israel of Hollywood Day School and YULA Girls School. (Cohort 1 included Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School, Kadima Day School, Sinai-Akiba Academy, Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills Day School, and Valley Beth Shalom Day School.)  Pictured above are the workshop participants, the Hebrew at the Center staff, and Janice Tytell, BJE Director of Continuing Professional Development.  For more information, please contact Janice Tytell | 323.761.8621.
