BJE March of the Living Launches Special Facebook Campaign to Raise Support for its Life-Changing Programs

From March 25-April 9, supporters of BJE March of the Living will hold social media fundraising campaigns to help raise money for BJE’s experiential Holocaust education program for teens.

Though the pandemic has forced International March of the Living to cancel the trip this spring, BJE’s Experiential Education team has been working throughout the year to provide opportunities for students to connect with survivors and learn their stories of survival and resilience.

Maya G. a teen recently paired with a Holocaust Survivor said, “I am honored to meet the Holocaust Survivors and hear their stories first-hand. Their resilience, perspective and wisdom are inspirations that I will carry with me the rest of my life.”

In response to the pandemic, BJE created the L’Dor v’Dor Digital Edition which virtually matched teens with Holocaust survivors. For Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day, BJE is partnering with Milken Community School, International March of the Living, and Holocaust Museum Los Angeles, to create a virtual two day Conference on April 7 and 8 for Jewish High School seniors in California, the US, and across the world. Gesher: Honoring Survivors by Building Our Jewish Future is designed to connect students with Holocaust survivors and Jewish history, and engage in Jewish learning, identity, and responsibility. The program was developed in consultation with Dr. Michael Berenbaum, an American scholar, professor, rabbi, writer, and filmmaker, who specializes in the study of the Holocaust.
