Teaching Our Children the Lifelong Love of Hebrew

BJE staff enjoyed a visit to the kindergarten class at the Valley Beth Shalom Harold M. Schulweis Day School last week, to witness the results of the Hebrew Language Proficiency Project in action. Teacher Ariela Nehemne, an alumna of the Hebrew Language Proficiency Project's professional development, immerses her students in Hebrew in every subject. See for yourself as Ms. Nehemme teaches a science lesson in the video left.

About the Hebrew Language Proficiency Project:

The Hebrew Language Proficiency Project, a joint initiative between BJE and Hebrew at the Center, empowers teachers to more effectively teach their students Hebrew.  Educators enhance their skills to maximize student learning, ignite a passion for Hebrew in students and elevate the status of Hebrew in the community.  Each year of the Project includes a series of distance and in-city workshops and mentoring provided by BJE through Hebrew at the Center staff.
