Born in Israel, and raised in Montreal, Millie came to Los Angeles in first grade and considers herself a native Angeleno.  Her call to work with people, and her background as a Jewish communal professional, includes many years of cultivating and working alongside volunteers in the Development and Outreach, Alumni and Constituent Relations, Programming and Admissions areas at such institutions as: the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Jewish Studies institute, Sinai Akiba Academy, and the American Jewish University.  Prior to her Jewish communal work, Millie was a Human Resources professional for ten years.

Millie’s passion is volunteerism, and she has enthusiastically served as a lay leader in her own community for many years. Millie is currently a Trustee and Board Member of Kehillat Israel, overseeing Enrichment as well as participating on the Israel Matters Committee and Membership Engagement Task Force.  She recently served two years on the UC Santa Cruz Hillel Board, on its Development Committee.
Millie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from CSU-Northridge in Speech Communications.  She and her husband, Paul, a pharmaceutical industry professional, have two children, Ariel and Seth.  Ariel recently graduated from UC, Santa Cruz and served with Repair the World as a Food Justice Fellow in Pittsburgh, while Seth is currently a student at the University of Arizona and an alumnus of a Jewish day school.   Millie is very pleased to join the BJE’s Donor and Community Relations team.
