Day School Accessibility and Affordability
BJE works with donors, foundations and schools to build endowments that will help ensure more affordable and accessible Jewish educational opportunities for families.
Development & Endowment Support – BJE’s support for day schools includes training in development and endowment efforts. Development professionals from the 37-accredited BJE day schools, as well as other day schools as far south as San Diego and as far north as San Francisco, meet quarterly to receive trainings from experienced professionals on various development topics. BJE also provides an opportunity for development professionals to network, share best practices and troubleshoot challenges with peers in the field.
Simha & Sarah Lainer Day School Endowment Fund is a community approach to securing the future of Jewish day schools by providing 1:4 matching incentives for day schools raising new endowment dollars.
Generations LA is a collaborative effort between BJE, the AVI CHAI Foundation, PRIZMAH (National Jewish Day School Association), local donors, and 16 days schools to secure legacy and endowment commitments.
www.LAHighSchoolAffordability.org documents and shares the success of the Jim Joseph High School Affordability Initiative to assist other schools and communities to learn more about how to address affordability of Jewish day school education through endowment development and middle-income scholarships.
Accessing Government and Foundation Funding - BJE offers schools support in securing government and public funding.
