Building Jewish Education Across Los Angeles

Project EnAble

BJE is the proud recipient of a four-year Cutting Edge Grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles to establish a centralized resource for children with varied mild to moderate learning needs.

The goal of Project EnAble is to offer affordable and easily accessible specialized services for students who need additional support in Jewish elementary schools to thrive. It also provides integrated professional development workshops for schools to support the clinical and educational work being done to accommodate diverse learning styles.

Following the first year planning period, Project EnAble was implemented in 2 BJE schools in October 2017. Program expansion is anticipated by September 2018. Currently students are receiving specialized support in the areas of English Language Arts (including Reading and Writing), Math, and Executive Functioning skills (including organizational and time management.) at Pressman Academy and Kadima Day School.

Accommodating and prioritizing the needs of all learners is a goal to which BJE and its affiliated schools aspire. Project EnAble will create a mechanism for providing needed services for students at reduced costs within the context of the school day, making it possible for more students and families to consider and remain in Jewish day schools.
