BJE is proud to again offer an adult March of the Living trip in 2019. The journey in Poland will begin in Warsaw after Passover on Tuesday, April 30 and continue to Tuesday, May 7, 2019. The Israel portion of the trip, for those wishing to participate, will be from May 7-11, 2019.
Tailored to adults, this transformative experience features an enriched itinerary and 5-star accommodations. Survivors will join us for portions of the Poland trip and we will join LA teens in the cornerstone events of the International March of the Living – the “March” from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Holocaust Remembrance Day and the "March" in Jerusalem on Israeli Independence Day.
BJE is thrilled that renowned Holocaust historian, Dr. Michael Berenbaum will again be the scholar on the Poland portion of BJE’s Adult trip. BJE staff Dr. Gil Graff and Miriam Prum Hess will also travel with the group.
The Poland experience will explore Jewish life in Poland before and during the Holocaust as well Jewish life today through travel to sites of historic and contemporary interest in Poland and meetings with leaders of today’s Polish Jewish community. In Israel, participants will commemorate Yom Ha-Zikaron (Israel’s Memorial Day) and celebrate Yom Ha-Atzmaut (Israel’s Independence Day). The two-week experience will conclude with Shabbat in Jerusalem.
