Part-time Religious School Teachers - Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills

At Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, we are a Reform, diverse, inviting congregation that is creating a 21st century Religious School. The focus of our Religious School is to create successful Jewish adults. We prepare our students for the world by teaching them to cultivate compassion, empathy, and practical skills through Project Based Learning paired with interdisciplinary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education. We teach our students how to weave their Jewish identity into their 21st-century selves to discover a life full of meaning.

We are looking for creative, growth-minded, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, part-time teachers for Sunday mornings (9:00 am – 12:15 pm). While we anticipate having in-person classes next year, we know that due to COVID, some virtual learning may be required. We expect our teachers to be comfortable teaching online, and for our students' virtual experience to be equally as engaging as in person. Our teachers are people who want to spend time teaching students, learning about education, and investing in the future of our Jewish community.

Our educators do not need background in pedagogy (though it is preferable), but do need to have a commitment to professional development about education. Teachers with experience with Reggio Emilia and Project Based Learning are preferable, but so are those interested to learn these pedagogies. Teachers should be familiar with liberal Jewish traditions and liturgy, have experience working with children (preferably in a Jewish learning environment), and have a strong sense of professionalism. We provide a stable and professional work environment of mutual respect and life-long learners. If you would like to become part of our future, please submit your resume for employment consideration.
