BJE Announces Development of Five-Year Strategic Plan
In early 2023, BJE embarked upon an ambitious process of developing a five-year strategic plan. Led by BJE’s Board of Directors, and facilitated by 2B Communications & Strategy Group, the yearlong effort engaged hundreds of stakeholders – through interviews, focus groups and surveys. Feedback came from Jewish educators, funders, BJE’s volunteer leadership and other members of LA’s Jewish community.
BJE is now developing an implementation plan, with benchmarks, for 2024-2025. The plan centers on four strategic goal areas: increasing access to Jewish education; engaging families in Jewish education; ensuring quality Jewish education; and ensuring BJE’s organizational excellence.
“Having emerged from the pandemic, our schools and the entire educational landscape have been changed profoundly. This was a critical time to step back and look at BJE’s role in the community, evaluate the work our professional and volunteer leadership have been doing, and examine ways in which we can ensure our continued meaningful impact on students, educators and families throughout LA’s highly diverse Jewish community,” said BJE Board Chair Craig Rutenberg.
BJE volunteers and professional leadership look forward to embarking on this transformational process, including measuring and reporting on the agency’s progress over the five-year period of the strategic plan.
