The WELL (Wisdom, Empowerment, Leading & Learning) is a national cohort for new religious school teachers that provides participants 6 online seminars facilitated by national subject matter experts on core skill sets required in religious school teaching: building classroom community, classroom management, partnering with parents, keys to great lesson planning, inclusive education, assessment, and who am I as a Jewish Educator. Each 2 hour online seminar will include 90 minutes of learning on one of these fundamentals of religious school teaching, and 30 minutes dedicated to processing the learning with fellow participants from LA facilitated by David Lewis. In addition, all participants will gather for a kick-off and a wrap-up session with their local participants also facilitated by David Lewis.
BJE LA is offering this opportunity to BJE LA affiliated Religious Schools' teachers only. This is an entirely volunteeristic endeavor/opportunity for teachers at affiliated schools. Teachers should understand that this program is not sponsored by their employer; it is run by the BJE. This is an opportunity!
There is a cap on enrollment of 20 participants for this cohort from Los Angeles. Those 20 participants who successfully complete the program (attend all six sessions by April 15th, at least 5 of those six sessions 'live/in-person') will receive a stipend from the BJE for $250.
