Let the wild rumpus start! With food, drinks, music, and fun, come celebrate the imaginative worlds of Maurice Sendak with special late-night gallery access and programming.
Live music by local LA indie-rock band Worn-Tin, with support/appearances from Los Angeles Eastside DIY puppet collective Freak Nature Puppets.
DJ set by dublab with Ale Cohen.
Food trucks Love Bird Fried Chicken and Vchos, cash bar, and dessert bar in Founders Courtyard (aka Sweet Treats in the "Night Kitchen").

Sholem Community HENRY SLUCKI'S HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR STORY

SUNDAY, APRIL 28, 2024
At 10:30 am we will meet in the auditorium to hear the Holocaust survival story of longtime Sholem member Henry Slucki. We are privileged to have the benefit of Henry's eyewitness testimony.

Henry Slucki fled the Nazi regime as a child in 1942, crossing the Pyrenees mountains on foot with his family, and coming to the United States as a child refugee.

We offer weekly social programs and semi-weekly elective classes.

Some examples of past activities have been Movie night, Cooking night, Theater Night, Trivia, BINGO, Scavenger hunts and more.
The social programs are targeted towards children and young adults in the 13-24 age group.

Our elective class is currently offering Art programming.

Our other main program is our K-7th grade religious School Bnei Mitzvah prep program.

Valley Beth Shalom's wildly popular teen camp, Camp ViBeS, has added SIJCC as a second location through a generous grant from the Jewish Federation. Teens have the opportunity to travel throughout LA as they volunteer, hike, and experience exciting activities like parasailing, kayaking, trapeze, and more! Teens earn 10 hours of community service per week.⁠

BUBBLES AND BAGELS AT TEMPLE ISAIAH

Bubbles & Bagels is a weekly Sunday morning class for 12–24-month-olds and 1-2 caregivers. Featuring music, art, storytelling & movement, it's an excellent avenue for getting to know one another and the Temple Isaiah community. Lead educator is a beloved longtime Isaiah preschool teacher accompanied by a weekly rotation of Isaiah clergy, educators and special guests. Session one begins October 1. Build your tribe: sing dance, nosh & play in community!
