Beth Shir Shalom ECC

Our program serves children 18 months through 5 years old, including a Pre-Kindergarten (PK). We have availability of half day, full day, and extended day from 8-5:30 daily. Beth Shir Shalom Early Childhood Center is located safely and securely within the Temple's facilities on a quiet, residential street. Additionally, we have electronically monitored security. Our preschool has bright indoor classrooms and features a large outside play area. Our Gan Shalom has a well-equipped play yard, climbing structure, and sandbox - all specially designed for hands-on, creative play. Our vegetable garden, butterfly garden, and sensory garden are the highlight of interest for our children and families. Beth Shir Shalom Preschool acknowledges and respects the diversity of our children while emphasizing Jewish values of family, community, caring, joy, tradition, and rituals. Through music, holiday celebrations, and learning simple blessings, our children gain pride in the richness of their Jewish heritage, culture, and history. Our Rabbi Alex Kress and song leader Eitan Strauss-Cohn lead our children in Kabbalat Shabbat every Friday morning with the smell of freshly baked challah flowing through the Synagogue. All are welcome to join the first Friday of the month at 5:30 p.m. for our FFS First Friday Shabbat. We serve a dairy dinner and have a family-friendly service at 6:00. Our program is play-based and Reggio Emilia-inspired. The goal for all our children is to guide them to be socially capable, and autonomous, to stand up for themselves and others, and to be menches. Beth Shir Shalom Early Childhood Center is open to all children and families, regardless of race, color, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, and identity or ethnic origin. Temple membership is encouraged, but not required. Email: [email protected]; Phone: (310) 829-2517; Address: 1827 California Ave.,
