Kehillat Israel Jewish Experience Center

For Reconstructionists, Judaism is more than a religion; it is a civilization encompassing history and literature, art and music, land and language, as well as spirituality and ritual. We seek a Judaism that promotes innovation that is deeply rooted in Jewish tradition, while reflecting the understandings and spiritual yearnings of contemporary Jews. In the Jewish Experience center, we work to create a child-centered, experiential approach to education which inspires children with the joy of all things Jewish: Torah, prayer, Jewish living skills, celebrations, the arts, history, culture, ethics, values and Hebrew . We have a variety of programs, including a monthly family Shabbat dinner and service, the Outdoor Jewish Experience and Kehillat Israel Tzedakah Teens, a teen philanthropy group which gives approximately $20,000 in grants each year.
