Sholem Community Secular Sunday School

Jewish but not religious? Founded in the 1950s, Sholem's multi-generational Jewish community offers a meaningful non-religious alternative to synagogues for secular and progressive Jews and intercultural families. Sholem’s Sunday school engages children 4-17 in an exploration of Jewish identity rooted in Jewish culture, history, and traditions of social justice. Sholem's humanistic holiday celebrations are creative and imbued with a sense of relevance to the concerns of our modern times. Sholem also offers a parent-toddler group, an alternative bar/bat mitzvah program, and activities for adults and young adults. Sholem meets Sundays, from September thru May, at Short Avenue Elementary School in Del Rey. Coffee & bagels served. Contact Email: [email protected] Contact Phone: (310) 984-6935 or (818) 760-6625.
